Sale: Monster High Collection..

I decided to go ahead and give ebay another go as far as clearing out the Monster Highs that I need to rehome. I just started listing and will be throughout the day and probably tomorrow to space it out and give some breathing room. I have done my best to make sure they all come with what they originally came with or if not at least a stand and comb. Top 5: Monster High...

So I made a list of my top 5 Fashion Royalty so I decided to now look and make a top 5 of the monster highs I got of 2013. I think the last top 5 might be like random dolls/such that I picked up in the year. I have been collecting the EAH's but only the first initial versions as I am still really on the fence about them, I like seeing them repainted though but I dont love them like the MH. Ive always been into horror and those elements, and I love how creative they take these characters. So here are my top 5 for 2013.

Repainting: MH Frankie...

So probably a while back some of you might remember a picture that I had posted where I was starting to try out repainting a Monster High girl.

I wasnt really happy with her eye and ended up just leaving her upstairs and since it gets warm in the summer and I had used way too much gloss on her lips it just ended up becoming a huge mess. So I left her along for a while.

I then decided to try again, looking at some refereances and tutorials. I usually have ended up doing my pastels after I lay down paint, but this time I tried it differently. Sorry the pictures blurry, my camera phone is just stupid.

I really feel happy about this girl now. Im also happy about the style I ended up going for with her just really reflect a lot of how I draw as well. I need to just brush out her hair since its been left in a pony tail for a while and then Ill probably just end up sending her to ebay.

After taking some time and really just staring at the massive doll horde thats become of my Monster Highs....I really have just thought about this. I decided I went over kill and now am going to basically thin out the herd. I am allowing myself to keep one of each of the molds and I want to focus on faceup artists.

I won this Frankie. I thought she looked so cute and I decided that if I win ones like these, Ill let go of the ones I keep, or send the ones I have to be painted by other artists. That way it adds a uniqueness and I can see how other people paint as well.

Update: what have I been up to..

Things have been a little busy as of late. My bithday was last month, and then we had Mothers day, my Gramas 93rd birthday and Fathers day. I also have been working alot as we had a sales meeting and then I also dropped a monitor on my foot when I was trying to clean a closet. So that put me out of commission for about a week. I didnt break anything, but still that wasnt any fun at all.

For Monster High, I picked up Headmistress Bloodgood and the 13 wishes Howleen & Lagoona. They had the deluxe ones but I just passed on them right now. Im really kinda excited on the new line too but in a little bit I kinda think these might be boring to me. I think its just because of how my personality is I really just click with the Monster Highs. I guess well see where they go with it.

Finally Finished!!!

So I have finally completed my Unoa Commission. There was a lot of delay on my part because it is summer so it gets really hot and I dont have AC so I dont overly risk using the MSC during that, plus you really sometimes have to be in a mood to paint. So here is a couple pictures of the completed work. There was 5 faceplates, 3 pairs of hands (I did her feet to match for free), sanded alot of the seams, applied eyelashes.

Also I have been adding pictures to my flickr of all the moster highs in there boxes with the backs. Im going to be uploading some empty boxes, or I might lay the doll with the box. I couldnt decide if i wanted to throw the boxes away or keep them, and I really liked the designs and how each box was different. After talking to Shugashug I now just decided to take a picture and then throw it away. 

I did pick up the Target Scary Tales girls. There was actually 2 little girls there looking at the monster highs and I just snuck in and grabbed one of each...Im going to be giving little children complexes XD.

Pickups: Bratzillaz, MH, Vivo & FR's

Yesterday, I went out to target to see if they might have the Tim Gunn barbie stuff to take a look at. Sadly they did not, but here is some stuff that I did come across.

Braztilla Pet - I don't remember what one this is or pick this up, but its the frankenstein one. You push a button on its back and it meowed and barked. It reminds me of Catdog.

Next I found they had all the clothing packs for the Brazillaz. I am really liking the styles for these. I picked up the one for Jade - Romantic spell and the Meygana Broomstix - True Blue Style. It comes with a outfit for their pets but since Im not getting these Im not sure what to do with them. I tried these both on my Pure Neemo (I believe its a Small) and they fit her perfectly, though I didn't try the shoes from the Jade pack yet because they looked wide.

Here are two expansion sets for the create a monster thing. I guess theres a video up showing how to use it. I was talking with a couple people over on flickr, but the face has become sticky. I didnt seal it or anything because i messed that up but Im going to do a test on the body and see if its the different of the vinyl, since the head is soft and the body isnt. 

One back is called Nocturnal and the other is Mystical. The Nocturnal one is a puma/panther I believe as it has the cat tail, but the rounded cat ears. This set also glows in the dark! :3 The Mystical one doesnt seem to have anything special except I love the little crown! The thing is I don't see a way to attach this to a wig >_> so Im not sure how its suppose to stay on. 

Both sets come with additional packs of those tattoos and once again I don't know what Mattel is thinking because they just came out with those CAM torso packs (which I bought 2) but these packs have 2 heads, a torso, a set of hands, a set of lower arms, and a set of lower legs. There is no upper thighs or upper arms to these packs. I don't understand this action at all. Now I have parts laying all over my table because I cant put a full doll together.

For a while, I also have been looking over at Retrogrades blog and I really like this little alien creature she had picked up. I didnt know anything about it, nor did I ask but I ended up coming across it. They are called Vivo Stars and their packaging is just amazing to me...even the handle is a headband and the artwork does remind me very much of this Japanese artist work that I love. 

The one I got is Alie Lectric. They all come with a pet, and a glow in the dark moon stand. Clothing and shoes are removable and I saw additional clothing packs as well. Each Vivo seems to have a different feature and their arms and head are moveable. Alie here "blushes" (you push a button and she lights up and changes color). One of them talks, one of them is scented, one is all glittery, and one is a nightlight (which ....is meh). I really do want to pick up the rest of these girls when I get a chance.

Last but not least the Fashion Royalty's. One I have had for a while but just didnt get to take pictures of him yet. The other one Tabby managed to grab for me from the dealer shes working with, so when she came up last weekend she brought her with. That one was the Tatyana I was having a nightmare trying to get from Susan's Dolls. I was afraid that all that drama might really turn me off from this lovely girl.

Everything taken out and put together, I like the little pink lock they give you to keep it shut. I just sort of wished the handle folded down for better storage.

 

Where is my face!

Little Hidden compartment drawer for holding the templates and tools. I thought this was really handy. I again wished the other one was a drawer too.

Pick out your design then pour water in through the little cobweb hole. I dont know how much because it didnt really say, but i think I used enough. You have to the push the skull to pump water to the sponge. It didnt seem to be getting it wet and was leaking water into the lid, so I pressed the sponge to help it soak up. 

Then you set the body part in, and put in your template after pealing off the plastic. Line up the black thingie that holds the template, and theres arrows all over it, plus it clicks too also tell you when to stop. Lower the template by folding over the black thingie and press down. Theres a skull on it whose eyes blinks, then flashes faster and when it stops its done. I think it was about a minute.

Then your done! Now........I know I messed this up and her face turned out way to low, plus theres a spot where it pulled the eyelash off. I think what happened was I went a head and set in the head but thought I didnt have it right and moved it, which I had it right originally, but second guessed myself. I wish they gave you some kind of template tester to try a few times before you actually use the ones you have, and Im not seeing anything as far as a refill kit anywhere.

Building an Army...

I had been looking for a B&W Skully Shores Frankie for a while around Christmas time, but pretty much around then everyone was picked clean, and no one really was getting in anything. Heather pointed out that the Justice store had some, so I picked one up the next day...along with a butterfly headband...I dont care if its a little girl store XD...its hot pink and rhinestonie so i love it. 

I went to go get food shopping done tonight, and I came across this ...there are 42 of them XD

I have finally found the one version of Frankie I wanted with the green makeup, but i have to say her body painting is terrible, its of and not as crisp as my other girls. :/ Ill have to see i i feel like repainting her
