Monday: Meet Aoko...

Name: Aoko

Personality: Aoko is is a tomboy, athletic and mature. She is devoted to those she loves though she can be a bit naive. She likes reading & swimming.

Aoko was one of my grail dolls and after pretty much residing that I was not going to get her, or at least someday bring her home I was able to. It took some time but I am really grateful that I didn't give up on this girl.  Right now shes borrowing a wig but I feel like its perfect. I even like the pink color on her. Her eyes will stay her default as I do love them which was another reason I wanted her. Again I should decide on actual names for these girls.

Personality: Mariko is a shy girl that likes to read, play board games and play with stuffed animals.

Mariko had really taken my heart so much, especially every time Heather would bring over her own girl (she had the WS version) and we would try different wigs and clothing on her. I really just love what I feel in a way is a sad expression. I also have a thing for dolls with open mouths/lip areas and this just added to her cuteness. I feel that her wig color will stay the same and Ill see about other styles but for now I just like her having her little braids and her eye color might change. I just feel like they get lost with her hair/coloring of her faceup.  I also have a thing about not actually naming my dolls XD...I might need to work on that.

Etsy: Dollfie Dream Sweaters

I have finished up the 5 sweaters I wanted to make this month. I dont know bust wise what size they will fit thought as I only have a small bust right now. They do have room in them though (ill measure it to see). These are long sleeve sweaters with a patter on the front and they come in lavender, blue, white, yellow and pink. Im still thinking some on a price. Ill be adding them to my etsy shop maybe tonight/tomorrow.

A refreshing look...

I had gotten myself a Magical Lucy because I fell in love with her outfit. Everthing about it was so cute. Theres little heart shapes on the back of her heels and her stockings and necktie were lined with white so they wouldnt stain. This whole outfit was just perfect.

But there was just my issue with her face. I changed her default eyes but it didnt seem to help. I changed her wig, but I think I just didnt like her non existant mouth.

So I talked to Heather some about her, and how I was falling out of love with her and maybe wanting to sell her. In the end I decided that I would repaint her to see how it made me feel about her.

In the long run, this has made me once again fall in love with my Lucy. I just need to find her a wig. I do like the short hair style on her so now I just need to pick a color and go from there. I love my Lucy now more then anything :3

Commission: Volks Option Head 2...

This was an closed eye Volks optional head 2 that I ended up opening the eyes, but I didnt open them all the way, so that she has a little bit of a lid lowered in the eye are. It came out rather well. This is the first time Ive modded a vinyl head. The silver/grey eyes are ones that I designed but Im still playing with the look.

Dollfie Dream: DDS Mariko...

So I have to say a big huge thanks to Volks. Heather is no help every whenever she brings over dolls that I kinda passed up on XD especially the Mariko. No matter what wig we put her in she looked so adorable. I even showed my grama this girl the other day and she really liked her to.

So now its its the Dollfie Dream 2013 Festival event thing going on July 8th - July 15th. This is a lottery as usual from Volks, so winners wont really be announced until the end of the month. I just really hope I can end up winning one of these girls. Its really funny because I had said screw it and was going to buy the white skin verion, when Heather showed me that they re-released her.

They this time around have released her in the semi-white skin. I am not a big fan of white skin. I have always been afraid of staining the dolls, but I feel Im less self conscious about it with the normal skin ones, or most of the dolls I love have been the normal skin. My magical lucy arrived, and she is the Semi-white skin so I can see how it compares to the other two skintones and I really like it alot. So Im happy this girl will be coming in it. I think they are going to be releasing some optional parts for the semi-white skin bodies. I couldnt really tell I just caught a glimps and kinda am guessing on it.

Heres all her extras she comes with. I really have no interest in the schoolgirl outfit. Im probably going to keep her bag and wig. The best line of her description: M bust - I was much smaller and more delicate then I am now.

Dollfie Dreams...

I have gotten out of the resin hobby pretty much. I have my few and thats all Im going to keep. Theres just too much drama going on and everything that Im just tired of it and after about 7 years, I think changing focus is a good thing.

The only thing I ever decided was that I wanted one Dollfie Dream. I ordinally had a Alna but I just wasnt clicking with her at all so she went to live with Heather. Then I had a Neris but eventually she went to find another home.

The one doll I really wanted was a Saber, and at the time they did the preorder and had two Sabers offered. Then came the dilemma of which Saber I wanted. One was normal skin and I liked her eyes, the other was WS but I liked her dress and wig. So I kept wishy washing and ended up missing the preorder by one day.

I finally ended up finding a reasonably priced Saber.

I haven't come up with a name for her yet. I just call her Saber and her hair wasnt intended to be blue but as soon as I put this wig on her and gave her a little ponytail nothing else seems to work with her at all.

Then I was talking to my friend Mandy who had gotten a DD Sister Nanami. I saw her orginally but just passed her up as she just wasnt quite cute enough I thought. Then I came across a repaint of the Nanami where they had given her a little open mouth. I loved how much it changed her face so after looking around I found that We love dolls still had one in stock. So she ended up coming home to me.

Again this girl I just call Nanami for right now. This is her default wig but I changed her eyes. Im not sure if their going to stay purple, but I like the shape of them in her. I love her little pig tails. Im going to paint her mouth to be a little open as I like that look alot and I think the rest of her facepaint is fine.

Heres also a few little things I knitted up for them. You can see also on Heathers blog the finished sweater here on her doll Pidge.

I also got some of the volks "large" hands. When I first looked at these I went holy crap these are massive but then I started to look at certain things. Saber has a large head compared to Nanami so when holding the hands to the face you can see it proportionally fits in covering her face. I actually always felt DDs hands were small to begin with, but if they are on a doll with a small head I think its going to make it look off.

So after all this I keep feeling like I want to own a million DD's but then I sat down and looked at the face's and realized there was alot of them I dont like. So I have decided that 5 is the most Im going to have.

I actually love Pidge so much and we were trying all these wigs on her and shes so cute in all of them that I was just going to buy her even though her price is high. Then Heather showed me that Volks for probably the next event is re-releasing the Mariko but this time in a Semi-white skin. I am so happy, so Im keeping my fingers crossed I can bring this girl home.
